Teaching Record

Resolved differences, retained versions and details still to define.

Part A -- Resolved by evidence

(Numbers C24 and C28 from revision 1 now appear in Part B as V2 and V1.)

C1. Position numbering.

  • Master:52-58 has 1 Point, 2 Shooting Guard, 3 Wing, 4 Stretch, 5 Post.
  • Bazz, Jan 2, 2026 (BF/Bazzketball Offense.md, about line 159): "do not assign traditional positions to the numbers. 1 is the Push Guard, 2 is the Inbounder Trailer, 3 is Strong Corner, 4 is Weak Wing, 5 is Weak Corner."
  • Disposition: Bazz's role names govern.

C2. Trey/Six option menu.

  • Master 5.7 / PD:70-74: Drop, Keep, Torch, Tail, Tail 2. Oct 18 website: adds Point.
  • Architecture: Trey Mode chooses Go / Bravo / Brooklyn.
  • Bazz, Jan 14 (SBF/2026-01-14__multicolored-playbook-chart-pdf__ff75f402.txt, turn [10]): "the trey/six options should be as follows: give, keep, point, side fist, big fist, tail."
  • Restated Oct 21 (CONV 7922-8010); Bazz corrected only Tail.
  • Disposition: Give, Keep, Point, Side Fist, Big Fist, Tail is the current menu. Drop, Torch and Tail 2 are kept as earlier options (Part III). Rub stays usable as an action word inside the mode -- Bazz called "Trey Rub Splash" on Jan 22.

C3. Tail -- who sets the pin-down.

  • Master / PD:73: "3 sets pin down for 1."
  • Bazz, Oct 22 (CONV 8022): "The trailer sets the pin down after his pass."
  • Disposition: 2, the trailer, passes to 3, then immediately sets the pin-down.

C4. Deuce/Dice option menu.

  • Master / PD:57-63 / Oct 18 website: Point, Hand, Side Fist, Rub, Big Fist.
  • Architecture: Ace, Stop, Veer, Get, Push.
  • Bazz, Jan 14 (turn [10]): "the deuce/dice options are give, keep, point, side fist, big fist."
  • Disposition: The Jan 14 menu is current. Rub, Hand and Drop stay as action words; Bazz uses Rub after Jan 14 (Fang Rub, Trey Rub Splash), and Hand/Drop name the Get choices. The Architecture names are historical. These uses coexist; nothing needs choosing.

C5. Strong, Chin, Temple -- category.

  • Master 5.11: Trigger "quick hitters." Architecture: "Triangle Hitters." Jan 22 recovery: 5-Man Motions.
  • Jan 27 [B]: Strong and Temple under 5-Man Motion. Oct 20 [B]: Chin under Motions.
  • Bazz, Oct 19 (CONV 6147-6152, 6390-6391): Strong is the first version of Trigger (sideline triangle); Chin is the Princeton chin look and "the motion offense"; Tiger is the shape; Temple is 5-out.
  • Disposition: The three alignments of Trigger, run as motion (II-6.1), cross-listed in Motions (II-6.2).

C6. Tiger.

  • Jan 3 [B]: "Tiger - 5 out, ball on wing" (animal formations).
  • Jan 14 [B]: Tiger category = Fang Side Fist, Fang Rub, Fang Push, Fang Kick, Fang Lift, Joker, Batman.
  • Jan 27 [B] turn [37]: "We're gonna change the name Tiger to Fang. Fang is read and react dribble drive."
  • Oct 19 [B] (CONV 6147, 6199, 6283-6291): "That 2-3 alignment in our system, we call it tiger"; Joker = quick hitters out of Tiger: Joker, Splits, Buzz, Away, Batman, Fang.
  • Disposition: Latest governs for the name Tiger: Tiger is the 2-3 shape. The Jan 27 read-and-attack package carries the name Fang. The /tiger page holds the shape and the Joker family.

C7. Fang -- one name, two listings.

  • Read and Attack Fang (Jan 27, "attack middle") and the Joker-family Fang (Oct 19) share a name.
  • Disposition: Listed separately, cross-referenced. The record does not establish that they run the same actions, and the playbook does not claim they do.

C8. Joker and Batman.

  • Master: Batman = right high-post mode, Joker = left. PD:11-12: scissor from 2-3 high.
  • Jan 14 [B]: moved from Hitter to Tiger. Jan 27 [B]: Joker 3MG = "pass screen away flashback scissor cuts."
  • Oct 19 [B]: Joker = the family of quick hitters out of Tiger.
  • Jan 3 [B]: "batman is really an early offense, like pop or weave or kick"; "if you hit batman on top, can run eagle plays."
  • Disposition: Both Jokers are Bazz's and coexist by scale: the 5-man family (II-6.4) and the 3-man game (II-6.6). Batman is in the Joker family, with Bazz's early-offense note kept beside it. The right/left high-post mode reading is historical.

C9. Stack, Double, Celtic and their combinations.

  • Bazz, Dec 3, 2025 (SBF/2025-12-03__initial-playbook-capture__d8e84683.txt, HUMAN turn near line 11286): "double celtic is actually two plays. double is a double high ball screen from one wing to the other wing. celtic is 3MOB stagger screen ... stack is a three man game double high ball screen from top attacking paint."
  • Jan 3 [B]: "Double - high screens into Celtic from I formation."
  • Jan 27 [B]: "Stack Celtic double high ball screen spane action swing into stagger"; "Stack Celtic is Spain to stagger. Double Celtic is screen to stagger."
  • Master 5.10: Stack and Double as Early Offense. Jan 22 recovery: Top 3MG.
  • Oct 20 Core [B]: Hitters -- "Stack," "Double Celtic." Sept 15 practice [B]: "Stack," "Double Celtic."
  • Disposition:
    • Stack, Double and Celtic are base plays.
    • Double Celtic and Stack Celtic are combinations (Double + Celtic; Stack + Spain + Celtic stagger).
    • Stack is not the same call as Stack Celtic.
    • All five live together under "Stack plays" in Hitters (II-6.4), matching the Core list and the Jan 27 grouping. Stack is also cross-noted as a three-man game.
    • The Master's Early Offense placement is a compilation reading and is kept as a note.
  • (Revision 2 corrects revision 1, which wrongly equated Stack with Stack Celtic.)

C10. Bobcat.

  • PD:21 / Master: Space & Play. Jan 22 recovery: Modes.
  • Jan 27 [B]: freestyle motion, "flash freestyle," "five out freestyle 50/40 and feel." Oct 20 [B]: Motions.
  • Disposition: Motions -> Freestyle (II-6.3).

C11. Alpha / Bravo.

  • Master / PD: cross cuts into ball screen, pick and flare.
  • Jan 27 [B]: "ball screen flare and dive."
  • Disposition: Flare and dive is the headline. The cross-cut lead-in is kept as an earlier fuller route [C].

C12. Echo / Fox, Goggles / Hush.

  • Jan 27 [B] turn [37] gave fuller lines: "Hush, pass, screen away into slice"; "Fox, pass, screen away, slash back into pin down."
  • Turn [39] compressed them: "hush will be the same as goggles description"; "Fox will be the same as echo description."
  • Disposition: Echo/Fox = flash back into pin-down. Goggles/Hush = flash back into Get. The turn [37] wording and the Master's UCLA/Flex routes are kept as fuller routes.

C13. "Top and side."

  • Architecture: Alpha (Top) / Bravo (Side); Echo (Top) / Fox (Side); "Hush Top / Hush Side."
  • Oct 20 Core [B]: "Alpha (top and side), Echo (top and side), Hush (top and side)."
  • Disposition: 3-man games are top/side twins. Family names with top/side and the twins' own names (Bravo, Fox, Goggles) coexist. Nothing to decide.

C14. Charlie / Delta.

  • Jan 27 [B]: Charlie = "get action" / "get and flare."
  • U-cut note [B]: the reshape's "Charlie" three.
  • Oct 19 [B]: code 22 = Delta action.
  • Disposition: Charlie the 3-man game = Get and flare. "Charlie" in the reshape = the top three. Delta = code 22; its full route is [C]. (Whether code 11 is that same three: Part C.)

C15. Quick, Fever, Klay, Thumbs Up.

  • Master: Quick = give and go into ball screen; Fever = flare screen into pitch.
  • Jan 27 [B]: Quick = pinch post, cross screen; Fever = on-ball screen into pitch; Klay = windshield wiper; Thumbs Up = 3-man Get.
  • Disposition: Jan 27 is current. Earlier lines are kept as earlier versions. Thumbs Up (3-man motion) and Thumb (side Snap) are different calls.

C16. Trimmed is not retired.

  • Jan 14 [B]: "I need a trimmed playbook. remove these plays: chest, hurricane, slice, inside, under, weave, juice, needle, Vegas, exit, Zulu"; also "drop circle up, drop circle down, drop trap, drop triangle"; "drop all specials."
  • Jan 22 recovery re-lists Chest, Hurricane, Slice, Slide 2-3, Under, Weave, Vegas, Zulu, Triangle.
  • Disposition: Jan 14 defines a trimmed teaching sheet. Those calls are TRIMMED: kept in the repertoire with their definitions, and not on the current teaching list. The Jan 22 recovery entries are RECOVERED and unconfirmed. Neither source retires anything. (Revision 1 wrongly called Chest and Hurricane "retired.")

C17. Tilt alignment.

  • Jan 27 [B]: turn [39] transcribed "tilt 122"; turn [47]: "tilt should be a 2-1-2."
  • Disposition: 2-1-2.

C18. Press break list.

  • Older strategy transcript: Stomp, Side, Peel, Box. Jan 5 [B]: Stomp, Side, Eyes, Wizard, Box.
  • Architecture: Stomp, Side, Uptown Eyes, Uptown Chest; Strong a future Uptown candidate.
  • Jan 22 recovery: Domino, Eyes Break, Side, Stomp.
  • Jan 27 [B]: Stomp, Side, Eyes, Domino. Sept 15 [B]: Stomp, Side, Eyes.
  • Oct 20 [B]: Stomp, Side, Strong, Eyes. Oct 22 [B] (CONV 8063, 8073, 8082): Strong uses Strong/triangle spacing; Strong and Eyes extend the same principles full court; "Run the play once to break the press."
  • Disposition: Core = Stomp, Side, Strong, Eyes. Domino is current. Peel, Box, Wizard, Four Across and Uptown Chest are historical, not retired. Eyes Break is recovered.

C19. Stomp and Side -- definitions and detail.

  • Jan 26 [B] (SBF/2026-01-26__coaching-staff-transition-for-babys-arrival__ffee352e.txt; HUMAN turns, inspected before the drive stalled):
    • Stomp: first cutter at the free-throw line ("stompman"), then Draymond or wide receiver; on a pass back, the inbounder dribbles hard middle until stopped and reads the flashbacks.
    • Side: sideman -> second cutter (two options) -> first cutter (two options) -> inbounder in the middle reading two slice cutters; the opposite forward goes deep, then flashes behind the cuts.
    • Role map: SG = wide receiver, WG = Draymond, WF = stompman, SF = second cutter, IB = inbounder.
    • Turn 483: WF passes to WG, then SG; SF passes to WG on the flashback, then SG on the flashback. Guards start at the elbows, touch the baseline corners, sprint to free-throw-line extended across half court, then flash back in their own lanes; SF and WF in the middle two fourths, north/south lanes; IB at midline.
    • Turn 781: Stomp from horns -- hit middle, then the streaking guard; goal layup; no dribble necessary.
  • Jan 27 [B] turn [39]: "STOMP will be middle to sideline. SIDE will be sideline to middle."
  • Disposition: All of it is taught (II-4), in Bazz's order, with the Jan 27 one-liners as summaries. Paths not stated in the source are not added.

C20. Score Quick naming.

  • Jan 22 [B]: "Domino 5000 Splash/Water" -- "Domino 5000 is the call," Splash/Water the reads; no dashes.
  • Jan 27 [B]: "5100 Splash" (right corner three), "5400 Water" (left corner three), each a middle entry into the corner three.
  • Sept 15 [B]: "5,000."
  • Disposition: 5100 Splash and 5400 Water are the specific calls; 5,000 / Domino 5000 is the family. All kept.

C21. 4MOB.

  • Master: ten formations.
  • Jan 14 [B]: drop Circle Up, Circle Down, Trap, Triangle (trimmed sheet).
  • Jan 22 recovery adds Arrow, Pyramid, Circle.
  • Architecture: Hornet, Nets, Raptor, Rocket, Piston, Jazz.
  • Disposition: All kept, at the status in Part III. Jan 3 [B] notes on Box, Diamond, Rocket and Rocket 70 are added as written.

C22. Specials.

  • Master 5.12: Drop/Keep combinations, Arizona series, Draymond.
  • Jan 14 [B]: "drop all specials" (from the trimmed sheet).
  • Disposition: Kept as historical combinations with their documented sequences (Part III). Arizona itself is current -- called in the Jan 22 faceguard sheet.

C23. Early offense.

  • Master: Stack, Double. Strategy transcript: Kick, Punch, Push. Architecture: Kick, Double, Punch, Pop, Lift, Go, Hook.
  • Jan 3 [B]: Pop from the wing, Kick from the top, Lift from the corner.
  • Oct 20 [B]: Pop.
  • Disposition: Pop is Core; Kick and Lift are reference; the other verbs are historical. Stack and Double: C9.

C25. Natural.

  • Bazz (BF/bazzketball strategy transcript.md): push the ball down the middle toward the pro lanes, the slots above the elbows on the arc.
  • Architecture: the full runner map.
  • Disposition: The push-guard rule is [B]. The runner map is [C], taught with its marker (Part C, K1).

C26. Secondary break.

  • Sept 15 [B]: "Secondary Break -- 5 series, 4 series, 3 series, 2 series."
  • Disposition: The Trigger series are the secondary break (II-3).

C27. Reshape scoring codes.

  • Oct 19 [B] first statement: 11, 30, 48, 58, 22 "for now."
  • Correction (CONV 6190-6197): 33 = pass to the corner, shot from the corner; "just delta action."
  • Disposition: 11, 33, 48, 58, 22.

C29. Eagle, Cobra, Spider.

  • Oct 16 [B] index request lists them (CONV 3968).
  • Jan 3 [B]: Eagle = ball on top, 5-out; Spider = 2-1-2.
  • Architecture: Spider Mode. Cobra notes: transition and Horns entry. Oct 18 website pages document entries for each.
  • Disposition: Kept as Systems with their documented content and markers (Part III). The record is too thin to demote them to formations. Their completeness is in Part C.

C30. "Wing" for Side Fist; "Bonita" for Anita.

  • The Jan 22 recovery summary lists "Renamed: Anita -> Bonita, Side Fist -> Wing." That is the AI's reconstruction of a lost Jan 21 conversation.
  • Bazz's direct Jan 14 list says "side fist"; Oct 21 used Side Fist without correction. Bazz's Jan 3 notes already use "Bonita."
  • Disposition: Side Fist stays the call; "Wing" is a RECOVERED alias. Bonita is the name in Bazz's notes; Anita is the earlier spelling in PD.

C31. Kill Clock.

  • Jan 22 [B]: "Joe O'clock play was all star The other kill clock play is eyes third side."
  • Disposition: All Star and Eyes, as the session recorded them. "Third side" is not carried as a separate play.

C32. Magic vs man.

  • Master: 2-3 buster. Oct 20 [B]: "Magic (v man and zone)."
  • Disposition: Magic is run against both. Whether the man version differs: Part C.

C33. Hammer / LeBron.

  • Jan 27 [B]: Hammer = "goal screen and flare into 50-40 cross cuts" / "flare and 50/40"; LeBron = "ball screen mash drive water pass on flare screen" / "flare to water."
  • Master: LeBron = hammer action (3MOB).
  • Disposition: Both are hitters with Bazz's lines. LeBron is also listed in 3MOB as the hammer action [C].

C34. Corpus path in the brief.

  • BRIEF.md named a nonexistent combined folder.
  • Disposition: The sources were read from Basketball Files/ and Studio from Desktop 2026-10-12/Basketball Files/.

Part B -- Conflicting variants kept side by side

Both versions are documented. The record does not say which is installed now. The playbook teaches both, labeled.

  • V1. Trigger four series: handoff version (triangle transcript) vs U-cut version (undated note: 1 U-cuts every time, no DHO). II-6.1.
  • V2. Smoke: a quick hitter that flows into Strong (Master) vs a phase call, "Smoke + [play]" run fast in transition (Architecture) vs a "quick hitter call" vocabulary word (Jan 22 recovery).
  • V3. Domino detail (C19 / C20): Jan 27 turn [37] runs "Domino 500 and 400 jump to ball for Magic boomerang inside double screen" together. Turn [39] makes Domino "uptown motion" and Magic "alley screen." The recording cannot show whether "500 and 400 jump to ball" belongs to Domino or to Magic. Both readings kept; neither taught as fact.
  • V4. Weak side under Trey/Six: Down/Up/Thru/Post Down/Post Up as separate calls (Master) vs "Down automatic when the ball hits the middle," plus a "Middle" modifier (Jan 22 recovery).
  • V5. Earlier option and route lines: Trey/Six (Drop, Torch, Tail 2), Quick, Fever, Echo/Fox/Hush routes, Alpha cross cuts. Each is kept as an earlier version beside the current line.

Part C -- Remaining unknowns

Only the gaps the written record does not settle.

  • K1. Natural runner jobs. Bazz's push-guard rule is documented. The runner map comes only from the December compilation.
  • K2. Trigger 3 series and 2 series routes, and what 2L and 2V are.
  • K3. Joker family actions. Away, Buzz (as a family call) and the Split action are not written. Batman's route out of Tiger is not written.
  • K4. Fang calls. Routes for Fang Side Fist, Fang Rub, Fang Push, Fang Kick and Fang Lift, and whether Joker-family Fang differs from Read and Attack Fang.
  • K5. 3 Tilt, 4 Eyes, 4 Tilt. Not written.
  • K6. Undefined names: Inside, Under, Juice, Needle, Vegas, eXit, Open, Slide 2-3, Christian, Kansas, Rodeo, Bonita, Flash (route), Go 1/2/3, Cyclone, Migos, Lady, and the 4MOB formation actions.
  • K7. Code 11 vs the reshape "Charlie" three. Same shot or different.
  • K8. Magic vs man. Same actions as vs zone or a different route.
  • K9. Eagle, Cobra, Spider. The website versions rest on compilation and lane readings plus short Bazz notes. Their full current routes are not written.
  • K10. Which variant in Part B is current (V1-V4).
